The other day I finished the bonus illustrations that come with the tankoubon in the bookstores. My vacation was supposed to start for real after that.... but the first thing I did after getting freed from the drawing work was to forget to eat for 24 hours and keep sketching... During volume 5, I told my supervisor that "I'd like to do this, this, and that, and end it by volume 8", but I couldn't help but draw more so it became 9 volumes. I also started this as a story that would end in 2-3 volumes, so it feels like it's been a long-drawn battle to extend it. ('ω')

Rotte no Omocha: final chapter

Rotte no Omocha is coming to an end soon. The final chapter is in next month's issue of Maou. The next tank will also be the final one, and is slated to go on sale January next year.

• The first volume was in Jan 2007, so it's been about 7 years, huh. These 7 years I've been blindly groping my way through the designs, so I get a shock when I see the drawings from when I was just starting out.

• And Rotte no Omocha! currently being serialized in Maou will also have its chapter in next month's volume. The final volume of the Tank is slated to go on sale January next year.

• The first chapter was published in June or July I think, in the same year as the first volume of Baka-Test.  I've somehow managed to make it for 6 and a half years for this series too.

• Ooh, thank you everyone for your words of appreciation.（つω；）It makes it all worth it.

• When I first heard about Baka-Test, it had already been green-lit for debut. I was quite uneasy about having to work on both series at the same time, but I just thought "well I don't think both series will go on for long. Besides, my own series will probably end in about 2 years to say the least of it." and got started on them. To think that that I would have been able to come this far is just...!

Book 1 of this is out of print and expensive, so no one's bothered to scan it, but a guy did transcribe his copy of it, and I've been working on getting it typesetted (on that note, the bubbles in here are a little awkward, so some of it looks pretty weird. Sorry about that...) V1 (first half of this story)is done and download link is below, and second part is in the works. The translation was transcribed from the Viz publication, and they changed a few things (simplifying names, Sarutahaiko to Saruta for example, and just generally "dumbing it down"). So yeah, not exactly the best translation, but it's the only one...

NOTE: this is only the first half of the first story, not sure how reading the next four volumes without reading the second half would go, so I dunno... Anyhow, links:

Waiting for raws

Hi, this is the translator for Onii-chan Control.

Comic Sumomo's latest volume (#16) that recently went on sale turned out to be the final volume. It's also the magazine in which Onii-chan Control is published.

According to the notice, Onii-chan Control is going to be moved to Comic High, a monthly publication, starting from the June issue (on sale the 22nd of every month); the June issue goes on sale May 22nd.

Comic Sumomo, by the way, was published only once every two months.

Volume 16 of Comic Sumomo contains two chapters - #22 and #23. Volume 15 contains #21. The raws haven't appeared for any of these chapters. Volume 3 of the tank goes up to chapter #20 only. The worst case scenario is that we'll have to wait for the tank scans that may or may not come out early next year. Ohohoho.
